Never fear what is lurking under your bed. Snake Catcher Tim Hudson says with mating season this year snakes are being discovered in roofs in mating clusters causing noise complaints for local Gold Coast residents.
This month Tim Hudson from Hudson Snake Catching caught 2 mating carpet pythons and 4 green tree snakes from a single roof in Mudgeeraba, and this wasn’t the first cluster of the season. Following these we have caught 5 mating balls in roofs within the week inclusive.
“Each year as the weather warms leading into Spring there is an increase in snake activity as the male species travel near and far to find a female mate. A large number will venture into roofs and fight for an awaiting female that has been bromating for the winter inside the ceiling” says Snake Catcher Tim Hudson.
Residents should be aware and not afraid that they may hear unusual sliding noises throughout the season if there is a snake or multiple snakes in their roof. It’s with a keen-eyed catcher that you can safely and securely have them removed and relocated to a suitable mating habitat.
